What more can we say, the girl's on fire! Having already placed highly with DJ-Kicks on year-end charts from NPR, Resident Advisor, Spin, Mixmag, LFTF & more, we've just learned that Maya Jane Coles' DJ-Kicks exclusive track "Not Listening" has taken "Best Underground Dance Track of 2012" at this year's WMC. We couldn't be happier! Congratulations Maya, and shout-out to all the DJs, editors, writers and fans who have supported her music.

One of the first custom items we've created for !K7's new online store is a special limited Hercules And Love Affair / DJ-Kicks collaboration t-shirt. For a group as stylish as the Love Affair, we knew we needed something with a unique look, and together we've created something we're pretty sure will turn some heads. What's more, pre-orders will receive a download link for the album on Friday, in advance of the release date. Quantity is extremely limited in order to keep this special, so don't get left behind on this one! Once they're gone, they're gone.
We've already posted a couple of times about the 27!K7 Exclusives series, which has included tracks from DJ-Kicks alums Apparat, Wolf + Lamb & Soul Clap, Motor City Drum Ensemble and Hercules And Love Affair. We thought you'd be excited to hear that not only are those tracks receiving a limited vinyl release, but the collection will also include a USB card loaded with every single DJ-Kicks mixes !K7 has released in its entirety. That's close to two full days of classic electronic music in one shot! In addition, the 27!K7 Exclusives box set will include all eight exclusive tracks from the series, special anniversary slipmats, and a limited edition poster. Copies of the box are limited to 500 worldwide.
We're now in week two of the 27!K7 Exclusives series, and are already feeling extremely lucky to have contributions from many of our favorite artists. This week's EP features a new collaborative track from Wolf + Lamb and Soul Clap. Ever since their amazing DJ-Kicks together, we've known that it's something special when these guys work together. The EP also includes a heavy new track from Berlin's Brandt Brauer Frick. Remember to check back each Tuesday through October 16th; we'll have more great music for you.
We've just shared one of two exclusive tracks from Hercules & Love Affair's tremendously fun DJ-Kicks. Haze Factory, who hail from Vienna, are currently working with Andy Butler on new Hercules material, so it's a safe bet that you'll be hearing more from them!
As a part of the ongoing celebration of 27 years of !K7 Records, today sees the launch of 27!K7 Exclusives, a four week series of exclusive music from !K7's artists and recent DJ-Kicks contributors. Every Tuesday through October 16th, a new double-sided EP will be posted for free download at http://www.k7-27.com/tracks. Starting things off today is a new track from Motor City Drum Ensemble, backed with a cover of a Danish pop hit from When Saints Go Machine. Check back Tuesday Nov. 2nd for another pair of tracks, and thanks for 27 great years!
We're pretty sure that if the need ever were to arise, A-Trak could always fall back on a career as a writer. From his tour diaries to his writing in the mainstream press, he excels at getting to the heart of the matter, and doing so in an entertaining fashion. It's fitting, then, that his two cents on the Deadmau5 / "All we do is press play" debacle are the first on the subject that we've chosen to share. Check out his thoughtful piece on Huffington Post.
A-Track: Don't Push My Buttons
In the new video for the DJ-Kicks exclusive track "Falling," Digitalism bring out the psychedelic side of children's television with a cut-up of vintage images and animation to make your head spin. Probably not for actual children.
Digitalism's beast of a DJ-Kicks mix is out this week (friends in the States need to wait until July 10th) and you can hear it right now in it's entirety via Fact Magazine. In addition to great music from the likes of WhoMadeWho, Alex Gopher, Vitalic & more, the mix also includes a hefty batch of new Digitalism tracks that you can't get anywhere else, including an exclusive mix of The Rapture and a new edit of Gai Barone. The guys are still touring tirelessly, so don't miss a chance to see them if they come to your town, and enjoy the take-home version in the meantime!
